Shin Megami Tensei V: Vengeance drops new trailer

ATLUS has released a new trailer for Shin Megami Tensei V: Revengegiving you a new perspective on the gameplay, story and world.

Revenge was announced in February and is currently launching on Nintendo Switch, PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, Steam and PC on June 14, with pre-orders already open. The JRPG is described as the definitive version of 2021’s Shin Megami Tensei Vthe latest long-term title Shin Megami Tensei franchise.

Revenge includes an additional story route called Canon of Vengeance, which ATLUS describes as a “dramatic tale of vengeance by the fallen, centered around new characters and an enigmatic cohort of demons, the Qadištu, who plot their own dark plans beyond that those who fight to maintain order and those who try to defy it.” In the original Canon of Creation route, players become involved in an “eternal conflict between angels and demons, as the protagonist fights for the fate of the world.”

Other content additions include new locations, “dozens” of new demons bringing the total to over 270, and new choices. It also advertises more “accessible” (though still “intense,” according to the trailer for “An Ideal World”) gameplay, an “enhanced combat system, new demon experiences, and greater field exploration.”

The previous, regular version of Shin Megami Tensei V was released exclusively for the Switch. It has a Critic Metascore of 84 and a User Score of 7.5.
