Raymond G. ‘Ray’ Campbell | News, sports, jobs


EAST LIVERPOOL – Raymond G. Campbell, of East Liverpool, died Monday morning at his home. He was 89.

Born in East Liverpool on January 28, 1935, he was a son of the late John R. and Goldie Bolton Campbell. Ray, who lived in the area all his life, worked for many years as a toll taker at the Newell Bridge. He also worked at Hall China, Midway Oil, Tri-State Transit and the Edwin M. Knowles Company. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Doris Mae Campbell; a son, Raymond Glenn Campbell; and a grandson, Raymond Jeffrey Campbell.

He is survived by two sisters, Verla Betteridge of East Liverpool and Ruth Powell of Oklahoma.

Private family services were conducted by the Dawson Funeral Home. Burial will be in Columbiana County Memorial Park.
