Aston Martin unveils a new turbocharged V-12 engine

The V-12 engine is essentially gone or about to disappear, but Aston Martin seems intent on keeping it alive a little longer. Aston Martin has revealed details about its new V-12 engine.

The twin-turbocharged twelve-cylinder engine is hand-built and generates 824 hp and 738 Nm of torque. That means the new engine is more powerful than the 5.2-liter V-12 it will replace.

The new V-12 gets a strengthened cylinder block and connecting rods, redesigned cylinder heads with re-profiled camshafts, plus new intake and exhaust ports. The engine also gets new turbochargers with higher speed and reduced inertia.

Aston Martin hasn’t announced which model will get the new engine, other than to say it will make its “first appearance in a new flagship model.” Could it power a new Vanquish or DBS successor? We’ll have to wait and see when the new V-12-powered model debuts later in 2024.
