Benzino defends jailed R&B singer R. Kelly, saying: ‘The legal age is 16 (…) The parents and girls knew what they were dealing with’

R Kelly Legally nothing wrong was done, according to the former co-owner of The source magazine, Benzino.

During a recent interview with the “We In Miami” podcast, Benzino was asked if R Kelly, 57, should be given “a second chance”. The “Ignition” singer is currently behind bars, serving a 31-year prison sentence on multiple charges related to child sexual abuse. As we have discussed enormously for decades R Kelly used his fame to sexually abuse and take advantage of his young fans. Many have condemned the Chicago native for his crimes, but so have others Benzinohave offered a different view.

R Kelly

Speaking about why R Kelly grace must be given, Benzino said,

“Everyone deserves a second chance, I know Elvis (and) a lot of motherfuckers fuck with 14, 15 (year olds.) I know N*gg*sf*ck with young girls, to keep it 100. I don’t like that, but then again, the legal age is 16.”

After receiving multiple “no” responses from women in the recording room to his “Is that okay” question, Benzino continued,

‘But it’s legal in America. So why is R. Kelly doing it all this time, you know why because they are 14 and 13, two years younger. …even to make an age as young as the law, you already know they’re getting younger than that. I don’t condone fucking little girls, it’s sick, but I also don’t think R. Kelly should rot in jail for 30 years.”

Benzino mentioned that at the time R. Kellys During his sentencing, it should have been taken into account that there was a problematic upbringing, and his friend was ‘exploited’ by the documentaries that exposed his actions. He added,

“Those parents and those girls knew what they were dealing with, with R. Kelly. A lot of people knew that, but R. Kelly had no education.”
