The University of Ghana Stadium will this month host the WAFU B U-17 Cup of Nations (AFCON), which serves as the qualification pathway for the 2024 U-17 African Cup of Nations.

The competition, scheduled to start on May 15, 2024, will feature Ghana along with six other West African countries: Ivory Coast, Benin, Nigeria, Niger, Burkina Faso and Togo, all vying for the coveted AFCON ticket.

Host nation Ghana is in Group A alongside Benin and Ivory Coast, while Group B consists of Nigeria, Niger, Burkina Faso and Togo.

The recently completed University of Ghana Stadium, which previously hosted the 2023 African Games, will serve as the focal point for the tournament’s matches.

Training facilities for participating teams include the Oval Field, Mensah Sarbah Field and the Union Ghana Field.

The competition ends on May 29, 2024.
