Arsenal vs Tottenham derby chaos serves as warning for Shamrock Rovers boss ahead of Bohemians clash

Shamrock Rovers manager Stephen Bradley says the unpredictable nature of derby matches means his players will face 90 minutes against Bohemians on Friday.

He recalled how the Hoops let a two-goal lead slip at Dalymount Park last June – and pointed to last weekend’s north London derby between Arsenal and Tottenham.

A former Gunners talent, he saw his old club race into a three-goal lead before conceding twice as their rivals pressed for a point.

Bradley will remind his players of last year’s visit to Phibsborough when goals from Neil Farrugia and Markus Poom put them on course for victory, before Jonathan Afolabi and James Clarke scored in quick succession.

“Derbies can be anything, last year we were up 2-0 with Bohs, it finished 2-2 and could have lost the game in ten minutes, just like Arsenal-Tottenham on Sunday they were ahead and it could have been 3. 3,” Bradley said.

“It’s changing so quickly, we have to stay focused. I know how they will play, how Alan (Reynolds) likes to play and it will be a tough task.”

Rovers won the first derby of the season between the two sides 3-1 at Tallaght Stadium. However, Bradley believes Bohs will make a different proposal under new boss Reynolds.

“They were very good, we beat them here and then they went on a really good run. The Dublin derbies are always tough and Alan’s teams are well trained,” he said.
