Callum O’Hare could join from Coventry City

Having recently lost the FA Cup semi-final to Manchester United due to the most minuscule of offside decisions, so close in fact that it had to be reviewed by VAR, Coventry City will be dealt another bitter blow.

According to Football Insider sources, highly rated attacking midfielder Callum O’Hare has indicated to the club that he will leave them at the end of the current Championship campaign.

A poor run of recent form has seen the Sky Blues fall out of contention for a Play Off place, and another season in the English second tier clearly does not appeal to the 25-year-old.

Callum O’Hare starts auction between Villa and West Ham?

With that goal in mind, an exit is certain, and the drop suggests a return to Aston Villa, where O’Hare learned his trade, or a move to West Ham United is a possibility.

Both Premier League clubs have had quite good seasons, with the Villains still pushing for a place in the Champions League.

Tottenham are seven points behind the Midlanders in the race for a place in the top four, and even if the Lilywhites win their two games in a row they will be a point behind.

If Unai Emery can get his team to play at the best level in the last three games, a place in Europe’s top competition next season is assured.

Considering where the club was when he took over from Steven Gerrard, it’s quite an achievement.

West Ham have an outside shot at European football, but with David Moyes expected to leave, their project is once again in transition.

Although O’Hare has not made a final decision at this stage, if it was a straight choice between West Ham and Aston Villa, there are a number of reasons why the latter offers a more attractive proposition.
